LightFlow Optics: A new lab startup for web-based optical circuit design

LightFlow Optics is a lab startup co-founded in 2024 by Sainath Motlakunta and Chung-You (Gilbert) Shih (both alumni of the group), together with Prof. Rajibul Islam.

The company offers an intuitive web-based optical circuit board (OCB) design and automation platform aimed at taking an optical “breadboard” from concept to fabrication with a tighter loop between design, visualization, and manufacturing output. LightFlow highlights a drag-and-drop circuit designer, live 3D visualization, and export of fabrication-ready files to support collaboration and faster iteration.
